How we check a site’s licence

We start from the Gambling Commission’s public register rather than a site’s own claims. Any operator serving customers in Great Britain needs a Commission licence regardless of where it is based, and a Curaçao, Maltese or Gibraltar licence does not stand in for one. We check the domain against the register, record who holds the licence, and say so clearly when a brand is not listed.

Where our information comes from

Figures come from the regulator, banks and card schemes, provider pages and operators’ published terms, each credited beside the number it supports. A figure with no source beyond a marketing page gets dropped rather than repeated.
